“If we had not noticed and did not pay attention to what the patient’s symptoms were that day, we do not know what could have happened to her..”

“The hardest part of these missions is having to say no to someone and not having to say no in this instance felt really good.”

“Diversity and representation matters. It is easier to be what you can see.”

“The MSK sisterhood came to fruition partly out of frustration with the treatment that people of color -including myself- continue to experience in the healthcare system. Our mission is to empower women of color to live healthier lives through information sharing and sister bonding.”

“I think that I’m still a PA and I’ll always be a PA. There was a time when I was a PA who taught, and now I feel that I am much more of an educator who happens to be a PA.”

My mom’s whole side of the family are dentists, my dad is a podiatrist, and my grandpa and great grandpa both practiced medicine in Vietnam.
All of this has influenced why I want to become a doctor today.

I strongly believe that everyone has a worthy story to share.

I am so excited to be part of the San Antonio People Project and can’t wait to share the unique stories of those from our very own community.

I am truly grateful for those who have shared their story with me, with us. It is not a privilege we take lightly and we hope to get to know many more, share many more struggles, stories, and victories.”
