Nasrullah Abdurrazaq: SAPP Reflections
I am truly grateful for those who have shared their story with me, with us. It is not a privilege we take lightly and we hope to get to know many more, share many more struggles, stories, and victories.”

I am truly grateful for those who have shared their story with me, with us. It is not a privilege we take lightly and we hope to get to know many more, share many more struggles, stories, and victories.”

My experiences have taught me that we all have a story to tell, and by capturing and sharing people’s stories, we remind ourselves that the world is bigger than any one person and that everyone is going through their own struggles.

I am extremely excited to be able to contribute to sharing the stories of the amazing people of San Antonio and help bring our community closer together.

It feels special to be part of a team that works diligently to highlight the stories of the amazing people we are surrounded by in San Antonio.

There is something about recording stories that seems important enough to prioritize, even during a crisis

“This first interview proved to be the mission of SAPP and it carries over in my life, my work, and my relationships. I slow down a bit and I listen a little better. I step out of my comfort zone more often. I appreciate the vulnerability it takes to share a story more.”

“The world looks brighter since I started working with the group at SAPP. Now when I meet people, I want to know more about them and connect in meaningful ways. By doing this, I’ve seen more positivity and hope in the world because I instinctively look for it.”

“In medicine, you often cannot cure the patient, and in neurology especially, you almost never cure the patient. That said, you can always help them, and you can always be their doctor.”

“You must give some time to your fellow men. Even if it’s a little thing, do something for others – something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.”
-Albert Schweitzer

“These experiences opened my eyes to just how impactful social determinants can be when analyzing the standard of healthcare available to a given population.”
